DAY 1 - Yangon

  • Upon arrival at Yangon airport, you will be welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel. Your journey begins with a walk through the colonial-style city center of Yangon.
  • Later, visit the golden Sule Paya stupa – built over 2,000 years ago and the focal point of numerous historical events in the city – the Maha Bandula Park & the Independence Monument. Then visit vibrant Little India with numerous street vendors and markets where the walking tour ends.
  • Then visit is the Chauk That Gyi pagoda to view its magnificent reclining Buddha and Karaweik Hall to marvel at the uniquely decorated “hamsa-bird-shaped” floating barge on Kandawgyi (Royal) Lake.
  • Proceed to visit Bogyoke (Scott) Market, where hundreds of gemstone, handicrafts, art, clothes and food stores are tucked in a maze of color (Please note that the market is closed on Mondays and on public holidays).
  • Your last stop for the day is one of the world’s most spectacular monuments, the Shwedagon Pagoda, a gleaming bell dome structure that dominates the city’s skyline.

DAY 2 - : Yangon (Circle Line Train & Dala Trishaw Tour)

  • After a great breakfast, transfer to Yangon Central Railway where you will take a train ride on the Circle Line. Opened in 1961, the train carries an estimated 15,000 to 20,000 people a day in a loop around the city.
  • After 45-60 minute ride, disembark to visit a local market filled with street vendors and piles of colorful items.
  • Transfer back by vehicle to Yangon and have lunch (on your own). After lunch, transfer to Pasondan jetty where you will cross the Yangon River by local ferry and will reach Dala village, a striking contrast to Yangon with its limited urban development and village feel.
  • Sit back and relax on our tour by trishaw, a three-wheeled bicycle taxi that maneuvers us through small lanes, market streets, and friendly village neighborhoods
  • On the way make a stop at a traditional family-run candle factory and a monastery to learn about monastic life in Myanmar.
  • If time permits we will also visit The Chu Chu shop, workshop, and gallery, making most beautiful recycled products.
  • Back to Yangon by local ferry and transfer back to your hotel.
